STAR LAKE -- Clifton-Fine Youth Hockey will host a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Star Lake Fire Hall, featuring live bands, bounce houses, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and crafters and vendors.
To donate an item to the silent auction, or to be a crafter or vendor, contact Lyndsay Macagg at 416-3818 or Lyndsay1114@gmail.com. You can also contact CF Youth Hockey by visiting www.facebook.com/cfyouthhockey
The hockey group is open to 3 to 10 year olds from any community. Those with children interested in playing hockey this coming winter may contact Macagg. Those with children older than 10 who are interested, let Macagg know and if there is enough interest they will expand.
It has been 15 years since there has been hockey played in the Clifton-Fine Arena, Macagg says. In February 2015 a group of community members decided to hold hockey practices on Sundays and were impressed with the number of children who were interested. “Some days as many as 19 kids showed up,” Macagg said.
The group is doing fundraising, looking for adult members to volunteer their time, and continuing to seek donations and players.
Those who might be interested in helping in any way are asked to contact or visit the Facebook page.
