CRANBERRY LAKE -- The Clifton Community Library is offering free naloxone training to members of the community on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m. with Dr. Deborah Norris of the St. Lawrence County Addition Treatment Center.

Naloxone, which is sometimes marketed under the name brand Narcan, is an emergency treatment for use in cases of suspected opioid overdose, while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

More information about Narcan can be found at www.narcan.com .

The training will be held at Clifton Community Library, 7171 State Highway 3, Cranberry Lake, in the community room.

An RSVP with an approximate number of attendees is much appreciated, and can be sent to clklib@ncls.org or by calling the library at 315-848-3256.

The class is appropriate for educators, concerned citizens, business owners, and others who would like to learn what to do in case of an opioid overdose emergency.
