OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center will host a free 16 week diabetes prevention program beginning Tuesday, July 9 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in conference room C, first floor.
The class is open to adults diagnosed with pre-diabetes or those at high risk for pre-diabetes.
The program will encourage participants to lose seven percent of their body weight, keep it off, and become more physically active.
Topics will include calorie counting, fat grams, smart dining out choices, label reading, meal planning, resisting temptation and ways to increase daily activity.
Karen Cole and Michele Catlin, both trained wellness coaches, will facilitate the classes.
