OGDENSBURG -- A parade of classic cars, antique snowmobiles and live music from the 10th Mountain Division Band will fill the city’s harbor June 7 for the Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce’s 11th annual Car-B-Que.

“The 10th Mountain Division concert will return this year. Funding issues prevented them from attending last year,” said event organizer Lee Jones.

They will play rock, jazz and patriotic numbers. The concert is planned for noon to 2 p.m. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs.

A new exhibit for spectators will be a display of antique snowmobiles.

“The idea for the snowmobiles was very well received,” Jones said.

The classic car parade will line up approximately 100 cars at the Ogdensburg Walmart. Registration for cars begins at 10 a.m. at the Walmart parking lot and costs $7.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will travel onto Ford and State streets before stopping at the Ogdensburg Dobisky Center, 100 Riverside Dr., where the vehicles will remain on display throughout the afternoon.

“Late additions are welcome. A lot of people wait to see what the weather will be like,” Jones said.

Judging begins at 2 p.m. More than 20 trophies will be awarded to best of show, people's choice, ladies' choice and president's choice, plus 20 other categories including best street rod, best flames, best 50s car, best classic, and orphan.

The orphan award recognizes cars that are classics, but not currently in production today. Such cars include the Hudson and Packard, according to Jones.

Attendees can also view a motorcycle display that returns for the second consecutive year. Jones said riders are welcome to bring their bikes to display for free.

Seaway Valley Jumpers will have a 22-foot waterslide set up for kids to use for a nominal fee.

Admission is free. There will be food, raffles, door prizes, a bake sale and a grill raffle. The Ogdensburg Green Market will be there as well.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We hope for nice weather and look forward to seeing people from around the North Country and Canada. It should be a good time, he said.
