POTSDAM -- The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) at Clarkson University Chapter is holding its annual A Walk for Education Saturday, Nov. 5.
The walk will begin on Clarkson's Campus at Cheel Arena at 10:30 a.m. and will proceed through Potsdam, past the Clarkson Inn on Main Street and downtown Snell Hall, head up Leroy Street, down Cottage Street, and then towards downtown taking the bypass back to campus.
They arrive at Clarkson's new Student Center by noon to kick off a workshop to enlighten high school students about college.
People participating in the walk can feel free to wear group or society apparel and may also bring placards showing their support of educational opportunities.
NSBE sponsors this event every year in support of educational opportunities. Any group, organization, professional fraternity, sorority, people or families, and all others who believe access to higher education should be open to everyone are welcome to walk with NSBE.
Prior to the walk is a fundraiser where a portion of the funds will go to an organization or society whose vision is to foster growing minds and also supports educational opportunities.
This year, NSBE is donating a portion of the funds raised to the Potsdam Neighborhood Center.
All are welcome.
