POTSDAM -- The Lil Knights Club will partner with the Clarkson University Women’s and Men’s Hockey teams to help raise donations for the Dick Murphy/Dalton Guyette Memorial Youth Project at upcoming Golden Knight games at Cheel Arena in February.

The Lil Knights will collect donations in the Cheel Campus Center lobby during the Clarkson Women’s Hockey game vs. Quinnipiac on Feb. 7 and at the men’s game against Dartmouth on Feb. 15. Both games are at 7 p.m.

Since its inception in Potsdam 10 years ago, project has grown by leaps and bounds and now has programs in Canton, Colton, Parishville, Norwood and Madrid, and hopes to keep spreading throughout St. Lawrence County.

The project raises funds and awards scholarships for deserving children to participate in various activities throughout the North Country community.

Scholarships are given to an average of 140 to 150 children each year. In addition to sports scholarships, the project has also awarded scholarships for Girls Scouts, AP classes, art lessons, academic activities and musical pursuits along with providing transportation.

Look for the Lil Knights with their green donation buckets at the upcoming hockey games.
