POTSDAM -- A College Goal NY event will be held at Clarkson University Saturday, Jan. 30, to assist families of high school seniors graduating in June who may be concerned or confused about how to apply for financial aid.
Financial aid professionals from several northern New York colleges and universities will be available from 9 a.m. to noon to answer questions and help families apply for tens of millions of dollars in various forms of financial aid in Bertrand H. Snell Hall.
College Goal NY will assist families with the online completion of both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
This is a free program, but families must register in advance at https://www.collegegoalny.org/.
The College Goal NY website contains information regarding the documentation families should bring with them. Students do not have to be applicants at any particular college to participate in this event.
College Goal NY participants will have the opportunity to apply for a need-based scholarship, and the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) will select the winners. Details on how to apply will be available at the event.
