POTSDAM -- Clarkson's Running Camp meets at 7 p.m. on Thursdays July 14 and 21 at Pine Street Arena.
Co-sponsored by the Potsdam Recreation Department, the free camp is an opportunity for children ages 9 to 13 to get involved in the outdoors and be introduced to running and Nordic skiing, with the help of Clarkson students Sarah Duclos and Ana Witkowski, both members of the university’s cross country and Nordic ski teams.
The evening begins with a warm-up lap around the field, followed by a series of drills and relay races where teams practice different exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring water bottles, and the group regularly takes breaks to stay hydrated.
Duclos and Witkowsi said the camp helps participants stay active during the summer, when fewer activities are available to children outside of school.
