POTSDAM -- For the eighth year in a row, the Clarkson University Physical Therapy Club will help fight cancer by staging a Relay for Life event Friday, March 30 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The 50 teams in Clarkson's 2012 Relay for Life have already raised over $16,000.

The relay is composed of three phases.

In the first phase, members of the relay who have survived cancer walk around the track together. In the second phase, each member of the relay whose life has been touched by cancer lights a candle in memory of someone who has died from the disease. In the third phase, known as the Fight Back Ceremony, all relay members pledge to do their part to help rid the world of cancer.
