POTSDAM -- Clarkson University will host an International Day of Peace/International Flag Ceremony Saturday, Sept. 21.
190 international flags will be on display in the Student Center Forum, with a 2 p.m. ceremony by guest speaker Jim Dugan, manager of the World Peace Sanctuary.
Following the ceremony the flags will be carried through downtown Potsdam in honor of the international community and commitment to peace around the world.
The U.N. General Assembly has declared it the International Day of Peace, devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
Interested individuals may carry a flag representing a country of choice or carry any available flag.
Those interested in serving as flag bearers should be at the student center between 12:30 and 1 p.m. for a briefing.
