POTSDAM -- Clarkson University’s Honors Program HP200 sophomore students will present “How to Increase the Supply of Clean and Potable Water to the Growing Population of West Bengal, India” this Friday, November 19, starting at 6 p.m. in Bertrand H. Snell Hall, Room 213.
The students’ mock challenge was to provide to the government of West Bengal, India, a comparison of alternatives for supplying water to this region and a recommendation based on the comparison.
One of the grand challenges identified by the National Academy of Engineers is to address the quality, quantity and security of water, which is in jeopardy across the globe. The focus of this course, as in years past, has been on sustainable development as this is one of the largest challenges facing mankind, especially in the near future.
