CANTON – A special 7 p.m. Veteran's Day Civil War Roundtable program will be hosted by Stanley Maine on The Regiments of 1861 at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association’s Silas Wright House Friday, Nov. 11.

Around 7,000 men from St. Lawrence County enlisted to fight for the Union during the Civil War, even though Confederate forces never threatened Northern New York. Stanley Maine and others will discuss the St. Lawrence County regiments which formed in 1861, including: the 16th and 60th New York State Volunteer Infantry units, "Scotts 900" 11th New York Calvary, and Battery D New York Light Artillery.
