CANTON – Members of 11th NY Battery of Light Artillery unit and the 2nd Michigan, Company E (infantry) reenactment unit will hold a recruitment day at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association, 3 East Main St., Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
They plan to set up a tent city and talk with the public about the call for volunteers, about the reenacting hobby, and even recruit new members who would like to participate in the upcoming 150th anniversary events over the next several years.
This Civil War program is part of the SLCHA's Commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, which began in 1861.
