POTSDAM -- Cinema 10 continues Monday, Oct. 17, with “Dheepan,” at 7:15 p.m. at the Roxy Theater, 20 Main St.

The film is rated R for violence, language and brief sexuality and nudity.

The film is 115 minutes.

For Dheepan, there is no freedom without bloodshed. When the titular character flees civil war in Sri Lanka, he finds that although Paris is not at war, he will not build a new life unscathed. Winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 2015,

Dheepan "shows how far people will go just to be able to cling to some semblance of hope,” says the Detroit News.

Tickets are $4.50 for general admission or $35 per season. Tickets for students and seniors are $3.50, or $25 per season.
