MASSENA -- Christmas activities will be coming to Massena this weekend, courtesy of the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce. Highlights will include a tree lighting, live music and an appearance by Santa.
The festivities will kick of Friday, Nov. 30 with a tree lighting at Veteran’s Memorial Park at 5:30 p.m., followed by caroling through downtown to the chamber office, 16 Church St. Hot chocolate will be provided and music by Ben Todd, along with special guests, will accompany the carolers.
Santa will continue the festivities Saturday, Dec. 1 with an appearance at the Massena Community Center, 61 Beach St., at 10 a.m. The Massena Volunteer Firemen will escort Santa and Dr. Care Bear in a fire truck for a grand entrance.
Saturday festivities will continue until 1 p.m. and will include Kendrick Beckstead with the All Elementary Band, and Gotta Dance Studio. Other highlights will include a coloring contest and craft projects for the children participants, sponsored by North Country Savings Bank. Cubby and T-Bear from the Bear’s Den will also put in an appearance.
