The summer starts off with a “Drop-In Yoga” Class on Thursday mornings from July 2 to Sept. 3 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Instructor Jane O’Neill is trained in kripaula yoga and will offer movements at a gentle to moderate level. They will host an open house on Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can view displays by the artists conducting the Saturday summer classes, along with displays of historical information related to Chippewa Bay, register for a class and treat themselves at the bake sale. Those with historical info they wish to share at the event can contact chippewacommunityclub@yahoo.com. That evening, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., local musical group Chippewa Breeze play a free show in the club’s newly landscaped backyard. Event organizers suggest attendees bring lawn chairs.

On Sunday, August 2, the club will host the reception and silent auction for the Plein Air Festival. This event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Morristown Public Library. Over 30 artists from around New York will participate and submit paintings for judging and for sale at the silent auction. The afternoon will include refreshments, door prizes and entertainment by Kathy Sommer and Kevin Irwin of the Yellow Moon Trio.
