CHIPPEWA BAY -- The Chippewa Bay Community Club will sponsor it's first "Meet and Greet" of the season Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Community Club, 1172 County Route 6, next to the post office.

In an effort to provide a better understanding of the amazing habitats that are part of our local ecosystem, the Community Club is hosting "Meet and Greets" and inviting knowledgeable organizations to present information to keep local residents informed on the issues.

The public is welcome to attend this Thursday's free presentation entitled, "Corridor's and Conservation."

Jake Tibbles, Thousand Island Land Trust executive director, will take a closer look at conserving the Thousand Islands as a bridge between the Adirondacks and Algonquin Park. As part of the Frontenac Arch, the Thousand Islands is the lifeline for the flow of biological diversity between two countries.

The presentation will also explore what local, regional, and national conservation organizations are doing to conserve critical habitats that serve as linkages across our landscape.
