CANTON -- St. Lawrence University is offering a tennis camp for beginner to intermediate players, ages 4 and up. The camp will focus on learning the basic grips and techniques for those who have never played or have played minimally.
By the end of the camp, players will be able to show a basic understanding of stroke production and will have a basic understanding of the rules.
It is at Sammis tennis courts located on the St. Lawrence campus, or, if inclement weather hits, the camp will be run in the Newell Field House.
The camp will run for one hour daily, from 9 to 10 a.m. on August 4 to 8.
It costs $100 for the week, or $20 per day. Parents must register kids by August 2.
The camp will be led by St. Lawrence men's tennis Coach Neil Caniga, and women's tennis Coach Greg Kreitzer. Several varsity tennis players may also instruct if participation is high. There will be no more than six children per court.
Tennis racquets, balls and water will be provided.
