Children's programs planned through Jan. 20 at Potsdam library

POTSDAM – The Potsdam Public Library will host the following children’s programs lead by librarian Rebecca Donnelly. The programs are held in the mezzanine, an upstairs play space at the back o the library. For more information, email rdonnelly@potsdamlibrary.org, or call 315-265-7230.

Curious Cubs Storytime will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. There will be stories, rhymes, and movement activities to build early literacy skills for ages 2 and older. Younger siblings are welcome.

Wiggly Worms Storytime is offered Thursday, Jan. 18, at 10:30 a.m. The session is geared for the youngest library users. There will be rhymes, fingerplays and other activities for children up to 2 years old. Older siblings are welcome.

The Afterschool Squad will meet on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. with hands-on activities in art, science, digital media and engineering for grades 3-6. Registration is required.

Spanish Storytime will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. Attendees will be able to practice Spanish with their family while enjoying songs, stories and a craft with Senora Elena. The program is geared toward birth to preschool, however, all ages are welcome. No experience is necessary.

Little Bees Family Storytime for families with babies and toddlers will convene Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. There will be a story, rhymes and fingerplays.

The Reading Zoo will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, from 3-4:30 p.m. This new monthly family literacy event for parents and kids in grades K-2 will feature crafts and activities to support emerging and newly independent readers.
