CANTON – There will be a children’s harvest festival from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St.
Children will press apple cider, paint pumpkins, make pine-cone turkeys and leaf placemats, and other activities as they learn about fall agricultural traditions.
The program is free and open to children ages 4-10 and their parents or caregivers. Children’s books, like “The Adirondack Kids: The Fall of Fort Ticonderoga” by Justin and Gary VanRiper and “The First Thanksgiving” by Linda Hayward, are available for purchase at the SLCHA.
Old-fashioned toys like spinning tops, jacks, and Jacob’s ladders are also available. SLCHA members receive a 10 percent discount on most items in the gift shop.
