POTSDAM — The North Country Children's Museum presents "Chemistry for Kids" Oct. 17 from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at the University Bookstore, 39 Market St.
The event is a hands-on exploration of properties of matter and the changes that it undergoes.
Students will learn about the chemical elements and the arrangement of the periodic table and examine some properties of self-siphoning and super-absorbent polymers and will have the chance to make their own "Dippin-Dots" ice cream, using liquid nitrogen.
The program is taught by Dr. Jim Peploski of Clarkson University.
