PARISHVILLE -- World champion reiner Scott Loomis and professional barrel racer Jen Bruno are teaming up to demonstrate how to get the most out of your horse at a horsemanship and barrel, racing clinic Saturday and Sunday, May 7 and 8 at 97 Sinclair Rd.

Planned demonstrations include getting a solid foundation on the horse and learning how to raise riding skill. Horse enthusiasts of all levels are welcome to attend.

There is a $300 fee for a horse and rider for both days with lunch provided. Spectators will be charged a $40 fee to audit. Warmups will begin at 8:30 a.m. both days, and conclude around 5 p.m.

Additional topics to be discussed include: collection and getting control of your horse’s body, training and tuning techniques, horse care and conditioning, nutrition, and goal setting. Riders will also learn how to correct and prevent mistakes, and learn the “mental game” of the rider and horse, how to build confidence on the horse, and tricks to get the winning edge.
