CANTON -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County, 2043 State Route 68, will host “Game of Logging” chainsaw training.
Level 1 will be held Friday, June 26, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., followed by Level 2 on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Classes are hands-on. Many insurers require GOL training before they will cover any business involved in tree cutting, according to CCE.
The New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) is covering part of the cost. The remaining fee s is $25.
Participants should bring a chainsaw, hardhat, protective chaps and gloves, and a bag lunch.
