POTSDAM -- The “Chad Fuller Memorial Car Wash” to benefit the Potsdam Humane Society will be held at the Potsdam Ponderosa July 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The shelter provides care for abandoned and sick animals in Potsdam and 11 surrounding towns.
In 2011 the shelter expanded and existing areas were improved to help house more animals and provide space to separate healthy animals from sick. The cost was over $1,000,000 with half being paid for by private donations, $90,000 came from a grant from the USDA and the balance of the expenses will be financed over 30 years.
Continued public support is necessary to pay for the new mortgage and increased operating expenses associated with the care of more than 1,200 animals that come through the shelter annually.
If you are unable to attend the car wash but would like to donate or volunteer your time then visit the shelter at 17 Madrid Ave., Potsdam or call 265-3199.
