DEKALB JUNCTION – The Ceremonial Tree Tapping and Maple Weekend Kick Off will be held at Orebed Sugar Shack, 503 Orebed Rd., at 11 a.m.
March 15. The 19th annual New York State Maple Weekend is scheduled for March 22-23 and/or March 29-30. Attendees can learn how maple syrup is made when four maple producers in St. Lawrence County open their sugarhouses to the public.
Maple Weekend takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, be sure to check dates carefully. Learn about tree tapping and boiling and taste some delicious, healthful maple syrup.
Admission to the family-friendly event is free.
