POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s celiac support group will meet Monday, March 14, at 7 p.m. in the second floor classroom, 50 Leroy St. This month’s topic will be “Celiac Disease and Bone Health.”
More than 75% of adults with untreated celiac disease and overt malabsorption at the time of diagnosis have bone loss, according to CPH.
Lauren E. Smith will speak on ways to increase your calcium intake, and Faye M. Ori will offer free bone density screenings for all adults who attend.
The group is open to anyone who has celiac disease, or non-celiac gluten sensitivity as well as family members or friends who help to support those with gluten-based disorders.
Info: Faye Ori at fori@cphospital.org, or 265-3300.
