POTSDAM -- A Costume 5K Fun Run/Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 27 as part of the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce Fright Fest Weekend.
Registration and check-in begin at 8:30 a.m. Walkers will start out at 9 a.m., runners at 9:30 a.m., and there will be a very short fun run for children around Ives Park at 10:15 a.m.
This event will benefit the St. Lawrence County Community Development Program's unrestricted fund. This fund is used to help maintain facilities, support education, participate in events such as Trunk or Treat, and helps with special projects to benefit families throughout St. Lawrence County.
The community may know CDP through its various programs, including Head Start, Neighborhood Centers, Weatherization, or Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Early registration is available at costumefunrun.eventbrite.com, at $12 for adults, $8 for youth, and free for children 5 and under. There is also a family group rate of $30 for a family of three or more, but no more than two adults. The first 75 participants registered will receive a pumpkin drawstring bag. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Registration at the event Saturday morning will increase to $15 for adults, $10 for youth, children 5 and under free. The family group rate will not be available on-site.
