CANTON -- The Remington Arts Festival will be Saturday, October 5 this year.
The festival is hosted by Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY), the St. Lawrence County Arts Council and the St. Lawrence County Historical Association. The celebration highlights art, history and culture in the Canton area.
Activities will include horse drawn historic tours, an art show and sale, period games for children, a student art competition, a 5k race and live music.
Festival Coordinator Brooke James is seeking a partner to assist with organizing the festival this year.
The Co-coordinator position will divide tasks with James, including budgeting, fundraising, marketing, community relations and activity supervision.
The position has a small stipend and will include 10-20 hours a month, for the next 6 months in preparation, execution and follow up to the festival. The coordinator should be enthusiastic about Canton, live in Canton or visit daily, have basic organization and communication skills.
