Canton's Remington Arts Festival Sept. 22-26 features Historical Association celebration of artist's childhood

CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Historical Association will celebrate Frederic Remington's childhood in the North Country with special events during the 15th Annual Remington Arts Festival, which runs from Thursday, Sept. 22 through Monday, Sept. 26.

SLCHA Collections Manager Cassidy Percoco will speak about the new exhibition, Miner Street in 1900, at a Brown Bag Lunch program at noon on Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Silas Wright House, 3 E. Main St. Attendees are asked to bring their own lunch.

Dessert and beverages will be provided.

The front yard of the Silas Wright House will be the setting of 19th century games like marbles and graces from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Toys and costumes from the time period will also be available and the new exhibition will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
