Canton's Bee Children band releases debut CD featuring original pop, folk-rock music

CANTON-- Canton-based band Bee Children recently released their debut CD, “Veranophonic.”

Recorded at the studios of North Country Public Radio (NCPR) and mastered at Treelady Studios in Pittsburgh, the CD features ten original pop, folk-rock, and agit-folk songs influenced by acclaimed artists such as Billy Bragg, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and Lloyd Cole.

Veranophonic will be available for purchase locally, at Bee Children gigs, and through online retailers iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby.

To celebrate the release of Veranophonic, there will be a benefit house concert in Sandfordville Friday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. Info: http://robinmcclellan.com/ for details.

Members of Bee Children include John Collins on acoustic guitar, vocals; Shane Rogers on keyboards, percussion, vocals; Don Burlingame on drums; Terry DuBray on bass guitar, vocals; Sarah Gates on acoustic guitar, vocals; Sarah Todd on vocals and Jon Dufore on electric guitar.

Veranophonic also features contributions from Traci Fordham, Miguel Hernandez, and NCPR’s David Sommerstein, host of “The Beat Authority”.

Bee Children have performed publicly at North Country venues such as The Parkview in Canton and Maxfields in Potsdam as well as events such as the Potsdam Summer Festival and the annual Community Winter Solstice Celebration.
