CANTON -- The Canton Yoga Loft, 17 Main St., has announced an expanded lineup of classes at the original location along with several new classes to be offered at the Canton Recreation Pavilion, 90 Lincoln St., in the upstairs Riley Room.
The schedule for the Pavilion is as follows:
"Yoga Meets Playgroup," Tuesdays from 12:30-1:30 p.m beginning Sept. 13; Hatha yoga for parents and caregivers with young children. Register: Lori Dye at 261-0156 or lorilynndye@gmail.com.
"Intermediate Kids Capoeira," Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. beginning Sept. 13.
"Beginner Kids Capoeira," Tuesdays from 4:15-5:15 p.m. beginning Sept. 13.
"Capoeira for Adults," Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 13.
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art combining movement and music in the form of dance-fighting. Register: Carrie Chandler at 714-2465 or northcountrycap@gmail.com.
The schedule for the 17 Main St. studio is as follows:
"Pilates," Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. beginning August. 30; Pilates stresses the importance of core muscles and works to strengthen the spine to improve balance and power. Register: Sue Wilson at 566-9588 or phlegopsis@gmail.com.
"50+ Gentle Yoga," Thursdays from 4-5 p.m. beginning Sept. 8; Complete but gentle practice for shy beginners or people with moderate physical limitations. Participants must be able to climb one flight of stairs to access class. Register: Ellie Beeler at 347-2401 or elliebeeler@gmail.com.
"Evidence-Based Qigong," Fridays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 9; Qigong is a gentle practice aimed at nurturing internal energy through beauty, grace and power. Register: Relani Prudhomme at witchwaidshigo@gmail.com or 744-0651.
Sarah Scafidi-McGuire will offer several new classes starting Sept. 13: "Power Yoga," Tuesdays at 9 a.m.; “Yoga for Teens and Tweens,” Tuesdays 4-5 p.m.; and “Yoga for Beginners," Tuesdays 5:15-6:15 p.m.; “Little Lotus Yoga for Young Children,” meets Thursdays 9-10 a.m. beginning Sept. 15.
