CANTON -- A "Blue Christmas" Service will be held at Canton United Methodist Church, 41 Court St., on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m.
"This service is designed for those who find Christmas a difficult season" says Rev. Michael Terrell, pastor.
"We hear constantly about the happiness of the season and about getting together with family and friends. Yet, grief, broken relationships, unemployment, illness, pain and isolation cane make us feel very alone in the midst of the celebrating. As days grow shorter and colder, our fear and sadness often grow more intense. We need encouragement to live the days ahead of us."
Everyone is invited for music, prayers and readings to help us reflect on God as Emmanuel, "God-with-us," who comes to us in times of struggle. The service is also for the caregivers who help us through such difficult times.
Their annual Christmas Eve candlelight service will be Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.
