CANTON -- The town of Canton will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2018 budget Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the municipal building, 60 Main St.
The proposed 2018 annual salaries of elected officials listed in the budget are:
• Council members, $5,217 (seats are currently occupied by James Smith, Bob Washo, Phil LaMarche and Paul Backus);
• Town supervisor, $15,200 (David Button currently);
• Town clerk, $40,518 (Lisa Hammond is the current clerk);
• Town highway superintendent, $31,211 (seat currently held by Terry Billings);
• Town justices, $28,090 (Christopher Curley and Rose Mary Philips currently hold the town justice seats.
The proposed budget is on file with the town clerk and may be viewed at that office during normal business hours.
