Canton students prepare for 'Battle of the Books'

CANTON – Canton students in grades four through six are eligible to participate in ‘Battle of the Books’ competition at the Canton Free Library.

Kids can pick up a book list from the children’s room at the library.

Teams consist of up to four members and choose an adult as a coach.

Teams may be of mixed grades and can be made up of students who attend different Canton area schools or are home schooled. Children have the next nine months to read a book chosen from the list of 20 books.

During the ‘Battle of the Books’ next spring, teams will be asked questions about the books on the list and will give the book’s title and author as their answer.

The winning team will go on to a regional competition to face winning teams from other north country libraries.
