CANTON -- The Stillman Foote Running Club will open their 35th season with the the first race of the 2014 Summer Sunset 5K Series June 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The race takes place on the Stillman Foote cross-country course on the St. Lawrence University campus. The series attracts hundreds of runners and walkers of all abilities from Northern New York and Canada to compete on the fast, flat 3.1-mile loop course.
Participants will compete to earn a Summer Sunset t-shirt, which will be awarded to those completing all three events.
A one-mile fun run designed for young runners, walkers and beginning runners will begin at 7:15 p.m.. Competitors in all three one-mile runs will also receive t-shirts.
Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. across Park Street from the Augsbury Physical Education Center on the SLU campus. The series fee is $5 or $2 per race.
Additonal races are planned in July and August.
