CANTON -- Canton Recreation Department hosts its first-ever Amateur Sand Sculpting Competition at Taylor Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 16. Judging starts at 2 p.m. This competition will be open to the first five teams registered in each age category, 12 and under and 13 and over.
Teams will be made up of no more than four members. All participants are required to follow beach rules, use only sand and water, and bring their own tools. No power tools will be allowed.
Children ages 12 and under must have adult supervision.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category.
Registration is due by June 13 to canton.recreation@yahoo.com or 386-3992. Registration fee is $5 per person.
