Jon Montan, Jr. of Canton, retired St. Lawrence County planner and co-chair of this year's North Country Clean Energy Conference, says clean energy can benefit local people and the North Country Region’s economy.
The third annual North Country Clean Energy Conference will be held at the Lake Placid Conference Center on June 4-6.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Real Projects, Real Credits, Real Technologies.”
Mike Richter, former New York Rangers goalie and founder of Healthy Planet Partners, will give the keynote speech on “Making Buildings as Efficient and High Performing as the People That Use Them.”
Now in its third year, the conference has become the North Country’s signature clean energy event, bringing together members of the energy industry, educators, practitioners, community leaders, and users of energy services.
This year, in addition to a diverse program that covers forms of clean energy, success stories and financing opportunities, there will be field trips on June 4.
There will also be an update on the potential for grass energy crops grown in northern New York.
There will also be training opportunities available for code enforcement officials, architects, engineers, and others.
People can register for the entire conference or individual days.
