CANTON – The Canton High School Thespians will present their annual spring musical production “Seussical” Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17, at 7:30 p.m., and an afternoon matinee at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 18 in the high school auditorium.
The production team includes Jared Carey, stage director; Kimberly Busch, vocal music and technical director; Tim Savage, instrumental music director, Erin Lassial, choreographer, Sue Dean & Lauren Dean-Cook, costumers, Bill Newman, scenic designer, and Barbara Burdick, rehearsal accompanist.
Tickets are available at the main office in the high school at $7 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults.
“Seussical” is a very clever musical which combines characters from many different Dr. Seuss stories. The Cat in the Hat (Anna Newman) is the emcee throughout the musical and often steps outside the story to narrate the various scenes.
The story centers around Horton the Elephant (Jay Kepes), who tries to protect his tiny friend Jojo (Connery Marsh) and all the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
