CANTON -- On April 16, the Canton Free Library will celebrate what they call “National Library Week” by sharing stories of people in the community in a "Living Library" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library's main reading room.
A Living Library isn't a presentation or a lecture -- it's an informal, one-on-one conversation with some of the fascinating people who make the North Country their home. Visitors are invited to engage with a selection of "Living Books" by sitting with them face-to-face and asking questions abut their lives or sharing stories of their own.
This year's Living Books include former SLU coach and Head of Women's Athletics Dotty Hall; musician and host of NCPR's "String Fever" Barb Heller; Canton Town & Village Historian Linda Casserly; Pat Dominie and members of the Morley History Group; Chris DeCristofaro and Robert Johnson, co-hosts of "The Library Pros" podcast; Patreesha Endres of Birdsfoot Farm; and Bob Poor and members of the Rensselaer Falls Historical Society.
The Living Library is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Refreshments will be served courtesy of the Partridge Cafe, Canton.
