CANTON -- The Canton Flames hockey team will face off against the Kids All Stars on Saturday, March 12, at 2:30 p.m. at the Canton Pavilion to benefit the St Lawrence County Cancer Fund under the banner of “Help Sami Kick Cancer.”
Sami has fought a cancerous brain tumor while continuing with her many activities locally as well as across the nation. The Canton High School senior is a board member of the St Lawrence County Cancer Fund organization and has raised over $100,000 on her own through the years in memory of her mother Terri and now she leads her own fight to eliminate cancer in St Lawrence County.
The Kids All Stars are riding on a two-year winning streak over the Flames who seem to be aging a little bit beyond perfection. The Flames range in age from 25 to 69 years old but will have some help from some of the younger players. The two most senior Flames, Greg Howe and Evan Poole agree that what the Flames have lost in speed will be made up with finesse to beat the Kids this year.
The St Lawrence County Cancer Fund is proud to distribute 100 percent of all monies collected inn St Lawrence County for cancer screening, education, and services to eliminate the deadly disease in the County. More information can be found at www.walkrunforlife.com.
