CANTON -- Birdsfoot Farm presents an outreach meeting and farm tour on their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the farm, 1263 CR 25.
Farmer Dulli Tengeler will explain how to sign up for a weekly box of fresh, local, organic vegetables and herbs, give a tour of the gardens, and answer questions.
Birdsfoot Farm offers drop-offs in Canton and Potsdam.
Low-income families can get a Bonus Buck substitute of $150 from Garden Share to help with the cost of the share.
The CSA starts on June 15 and runs through Oct. 16. “This is an opportunity for people who love good food to commit to weekly fresh produce, to learn about new crops like celeriac, to get recipes and enjoy the farm’s newsletters, while we can focus on growing healthy food for local people,” says Tengeler.
The farm hopes to up its shares to 80 this year. For more information or directions call 386 4852 or visit www.birdsfoot farm.weebly.com.
