WADDINGTON – Democratic Congressional hopeful Tedra Cobb of Canton will host a “Community Conversation” on Thursday, May 10, at the Hepburn Library of Waddington, 30 Main St.
High school students are invited to speak with Cobb from 6 to 7 p.m., and the general public can join them from 7 to 8 p.m.
Cobb is one of six Democrats in the 21st Congressional District who are vying for the party’s nomination for a chance to unseat two-term Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of Willsboro.
Cobb has lived in the district for more than 30 years, working in local, regional, and statewide government, healthcare, education, and community service. She spent two terms as St. Lawrence County legislator.
“We have been working hard to build relationships across the district, talking about the issues that matter to constituents of NY-21,” said Cobb in her announcement of the Waddington event. “As we work toward the primary, it is important to me to hear from people in our part of the state about what matters to them. I am particularly interested to hear from the young people in our communities, who are increasingly engaged in the political process and motivated to learn as much about candidates as they can before their first time voting.”
The announcement said that “she is the best chance among challengers to help reclaim the House of Representatives for Democrats.”
