CANTON – A chair-caning workshop will be offered March 5, 12, and 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the St. Lawrence Historical Society, 3 East Main St. Carl Stickney, instructor for the workshop, has decades of experience in chair caning.
Participants should bring a chair with the old caning removed. Participants should be able to complete the caning of one chair during the workshop. Chairs that need to be caned are available for fee. The class costs $48 for members and $58 for non-members.
Most caning materials are included, but supplies to bring from home include: scissors, awl, paring knife, a few clothespins, rag, and a small water container. Info: 386-8133 or info@slcha.org.
