CANTON – Several canning workshops will be held on Fridays beginning Sept. 27 through Nov. 1 at Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County, 2043B State Highway 68 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. each class.
All classes are $10 per participant. Understanding canners and equipment will be Sept. 27.
This course will cover the basics of hot water bath canning as well as pressure canning. Pickling, sweet to sour, will be Oct. 4 and will teach how to preserve your harvest including cucumbers, cauliflower, green beans, and more. Making sauerkraut workshop will be Oct. 11.
Canning jams and jellies will be Oct. 25. Canning wild game class will be Nov. 1 where tips, techniques, and recipes will be shared.
