POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care will hold its ninth annual Cancer Survivors Dinner at Clarkson University’s Cheel Commons.
Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. Dinner and program will follow at 4:00 p.m
June 3 marks the 25th annual National Cancer Survivors Day. The celebration is a worldwide tradition held in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Canada and other countries. Cancer survivors, caregivers, family members, friends and healthcare professionals unite in this symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality.
“We are proud to join communities around the globe in celebrating life as part of National Cancer Survivors’ Day, the world’s largest cancer survivor event,” said Jackie Dow, Director of Oncology Services. “This is an opportunity to honor survivors for their strength and courage and recognize family and friends for their unending support,” added Dow.
Each year, numerous CPH departments create themed baskets to be donated as prizes for the dinner. Some of the themes from previous years included gourmet coffees, candy, relaxation and recreation baskets. Members of the community who wish to donate a basket, RSVP for the dinner or would like more information about this local event, may contact Lori Durant at 315-261-5890 or email Lainey Scott at escott@cphospital.org
