HEUVELTON - Pickens Hall, 83 State St., presents Canadian roots band Searson on Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m.

Sisters Erin and Colleen Searson have developed an original style of high energy fiddling with passionate vocals, and step dancing.

Colleen plays fiddle, sings and performs Ottawa Valley step dancing while Erin performs on the piano, vocals, Ottawa Valley Step Dancing and tenor guitar.

They are joined by Fraser Gauthier on bass and Dave McDougal on drums.

Growing up in the Ottawa Valley, Ontario Canada, these sisters began studying music at a young age, performing locally and competing at step dance and fiddle contests, said a press release.

Over the past few years Searson has toured throughout Canada, the United States and beyond.

The group will blend Ottawa Valley style music with Celtic East Coast, Scottish and various other styles throughout the show.

“The most satisfying part of performing live is seeing our fans singing along to songs that we’ve written and requesting fiddle tunes that we wrote,” said Erin. “There’s nothing better than seeing the audience emotionally involved in your live show.”

Tickets are $15 in advance, and $18 at the door
