The Shipley Center for Innovation at Clarkson University is partnering with the law firm Woods Oviatt Gilman of Rochester for a business mini-series called, “Where do I begin!”
The topic for Oct. 29 at 6 to 7:30 p.m., will be with Dennis Danella, intellectual property attorney with the firm. He will discuss protecting an idea through the patent process including what is needed for a mobile software application ("app") patent. The discussion will also cover the differences in forming a (LLC) limited liability company, corporation, or a partnership.
Nov. 4, 6 to 7 p.m., will cover 3D printing with Shaun Jones, technical assistant for the Shipley Center for Innovation. He will discuss the benefits of prototyping using a 3D printer.
Also on Nov 4, 7 to 8 p.m., Craig Basford from Jack of Trade Apps will cover the creative design process needed for app development and what it takes to make an app idea a reality.
All sessions will be in the Peyton Hall Conference room, 65 Main St., Potsdam.
