CANTON — St. Lawrence University’s Richard F. Brush Art Gallery will present the exhibition “Sacred Symbols in Sequins: Vintage Haitian Vodou Flags” from Oct. 21 to Dec. 12.
Haitian Vodou is a syncretic religion that blends the sacred iconographies of Africa, the Americas and Europe.
A lecture by author and UCLA Professor of English Donald Cosentino titled “Haiti, Art, and the Gods of Vodou,” will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Griffiths Arts Center, Room 123.
