This brave soul seems content as he heads for the deep in a past Plunge.

OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce and the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad have set the 10th Polar Bear Plunge for Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center.

Past participants are encouraged and new participants are welcome to enter. There will be prizes for the most pledges raised, for best costumes, and for teams.

Registration is $50 if no pledge money is raised. Registration will be held from 11 am to 12:30 pm and the plunge will start at 1 pm.

The chamber has started a “Badge Battle” division, where all members of law enforcement, EMS members and fire departments – anyone who serves our community – can join a new competition in a fundraising challenge. The ultimate goal – teams who raise the most pledges – will win the Badge Battle traveling trophy and bragging rights as the top team. Registration is $50 if no pledge money is raised.

And there’s a new “Scaredy-Cat Club” for those who are too scared to plunge. They can sign up to join the club, raise money for a great cause, and win prizes for costumes and the most pledges raised. Registration in the club is $10 if no pledge money is raised.

And a new “Cubs’ Den,” for the “cubs” who come to watch the plunge, features games, face painting, refreshments and loads of fun for kids!. The Cubs’ Den will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free.

There will be fun for the whole family, food, and raffles.
