POTSDAM - “Brain Candy: A Collaboration” opens Friday, July 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Arts Gallery, 18 Elm St.
The exhibit focuses on adolescent consumption of photography, explored through mixed media collaborations.
The artwork is a selection of collaborations by Deborah Dudley, of Potsdam, with young artists including her two daughters, Isabel and Luca Pecora.
“As an artist and mother of two adolescent girls, understanding the dynamics and mechanics of image consumption as well as image-making and how it informs identity and perception of self has become critical to navigating the intensely photographic saturation of my daughters’ lives,” Dudley said.
The exhibit is free and open to the public, and wheelchair accessible. Sales of Dudley’s work benefit the artist and SLC Arts.
Dudley’s mixed media collaborations will be on display at the SLC Arts Gallery at the Potsdam Town Hall, 18 Elm St., through Sept, 9.
The Gallery is open during Town Hall business hours, Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Fridays until 1 p.m.
